Abstract

The purpose of research and development is to produce a valid module-based potential on Trenggalek area from material, language, design, effectiveness, implementation, and attractiveness aspects. The module products, that are developed, consist of five subjects, namely: PPKn, Bahasa Indonesia, IPA, IPS, and SBdP. The developed module products consist of several specifications that can be seen from the material, in which they cover up the aspects of history, variety of arts, economic activities, geographical location, variety of Trenggalek area dance moves typical, and tourist objects of Trenggalek area. It is seen from the design specifications that include of cover illustrations, image proportions, and form of writing used. The language specifications cover up the use of language in accordance with the general Indonesian spelling guide (PUEBI). A research and development method was used as the method of this research, of which method was the modification of Borg and Gall, namely: research and information collection stages, planning, development of product initial draft, expert validation test, revision of expert validation test result, limited trial and refinement of limited trial result. Analysis of descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative data were used as the data analysis techniques of this research. The analysis of descriptive qualitative data was used for processing the data that included of suggestions and comment of the assessment of validation questionnaires results, observation sheets, and also the teacher and students’ response questionnaires in the form of descriptive data. The analysis of descriptive qualitative data illustrated the statistical data of this research. The result of the data validation test of module products obtained the percentages score of 97.2% with a very valid qualification and could be implemented. The results of data analysis through the implementation stage of the module product obtained the percentages score of 96.2% with a very effective qualification and feasible to be used. The results of data analysis through the effectiveness stage of the module products obtained the percentages score of 84,9% with the category of developed module was a very effective to be used. The results of data analysis at the attractiveness stage of module products obtained the percentages score of 96.3%, in which the qualification of module product developed was very feasible and could be used without revision. This module products are several examples of the thematic module development; thus, it can be a reference for developing other thematic modules.
