Abstract

Based on the results of observations and interviews conducted in two Elementary Schools, the multiplication and division of decimal fractions learning in SDN Torongrejo 01 Batu and SDN Sumbersari 1 Malang do not use any learning media. In fact, SDN Torongrejo 01 has a learning media in the form of KIT media but they never use it since it is too big and impractical. Meanwhile, SDN Sumbersari 1 Malang does not have any learning media for multiplication and division materials only use whiteboard as the media. This study aims to: (1) describe the development of pop-up media product on the multiplication and the division of decimal fractions materials for grade V of elementary schools, and (2) know the advisability of pop-up media users on the multiplication and division of fractional decimal materials for the grade V of elementary school. The type of this research is research development. The source of the data was two validators of media expert and material expert. The validation was done on 9th and 10th of March 2018. Other sources of data were the grade V teachers and students of SDN Torongrejo 01 Batu and Sumbersari 1 Malang. The academic year of 2017/2018, numbering 28 students in SDN Torongrejo 01 Batu and 28 students in SDN Sumbersari 1 Malang. The implementation was conducted on 16th and 19th of March, 2018 by collecting the teachers’ and students’ responses, as well as students’ learning outcomes. The result shows that (1) this development research produces a pop up product that can be used in grade V of elementary schools, (2) the media development use ADDIE model which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, (3) the result of media validation gains 97,2% score and the result of material validation gains 97,2% score. This suggests pop up media as a highly feasible or highly valid learning media. (4) teachers and students give a positive response toward pop-up media with 97% score of teacher’s response at SDN Torongrejo 01 Batu, and 94% score of teacher’s response in Sumbersari 1 Malang. 96% student response at SDN Torongrejo 01 Batu and 97% in SDN Sumbersari 1 Malang. (6) the implementation result shows a classical mastery of 90% at SDN Torongrejo 01 Batu and 93% at SDN Sumbersari 1 Malang. It indicates that pop-up media is an effective media used in learning.
