Abstract

This research aims to: (1) explain to where the understanding of school equipment in SD Negeri Jatimulyo 1 Malang about child friendly school, (2) to describe how far the implementation of child-friendly school in SD Negeri Jatimulyo 1 Malang, and (3) explain what are the constraints faced by SD Negeri Jatimulyo 1 Malang in the implementation of child-friendly school. The type of research which is used is the type of qualitative descriptive research. As a source of data which is selected : the principals, the teachers of grade 2 and 4, and GPK in SD Negeri Jatimulyo 1 Malang. This research was conducted for 2 weeks from January to February 2018. The results of the research shows (1) the understanding of the principals and the teachers about child-friendly school in theory or concept basically corrected, but there are still some obstacles in the implementation so that the implementation of this child-friendly school has not run maximally in accordance with the concept. (2) SD Negeri Jatimulyo 1 Malang has applied and strives to continuously improve the implementation of child-friendly school according with its indicator which is already set, although it is not all done maximally because there are still some deficiencies. (3) SD Negeri Jatimulyo 1 Malang still has some obstacles and limitations such as limited funds experienced by schools in an effort to support the fulfillment of facilities and infrastructure. Other constraints are also due to the location or the school land is very narrow, causing the school is difficult to develop the facilities and thr infrastructure. Attitudes and character of the children and the deal of parents to the teachers also become obstacles in the implementation of child-friendly school. Suggestions are aimed at school tools so that conceptual understanding of child-friendly schools should be tailored to their application on the ground. Parents also need to understand about child-friendly schools. The fulfillment of the rights of the child should be more concerned especially the fulfillment of the rights owned by children with special needs who are exist in the school. The teachers should take advantage of existing facilities and infrastructure to support the realization of exciting learning for children. The fulfillment of facilities and infrastructure in schools can also be overcome by establishing relationships to cooperate with the surrounding communities and alumni and related institutions that can assist in the fulfillment of facilities and infrastructure that have not been adequate.
