Abstract

Teaching and learning process in 3 grade SDN Purwantoro 2 Malang still using conventional learning model. Conventional learning model students can not learn independently because the learning center lies in the teacher. Conventional learning activities cause to an inactive and student learning outcomes is low. The use of learning model Inquiry and learning model of Discovery Learning in teaching and learning activities, giving students the opportunity to think critically and influence their learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Inquiry model and learning model of Discovery Learning on the result of the third grade students of SDN Purwantoro 2 Malang. This type of the research is a quantitative experimental research design of Pre Experimental The Static Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampling technique that is saturated samples, III-A class as many as 33 students and III-B 33 students. The time of this research was February 2018. The technique of collecting data in this research is observation, interview and test. Test is divided into pretest and posttest. Data analysis technique used t-test. From the results of the study note that the model of Inquiry and learning model of Discovery Learning gives an influence on student learning outcomes. Both the models have significant differences. It is known by comparing the posttest value of the two classes. The result of the hypothesis test shown in Sig column. (2-tailed) 0.001. The figure shows less than 0.05 as the basis for decision making. Meaning if Sig. (2-tailed) <0.05 H1 is rejected. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the Inquiry model and the Discovery Learning model on the students' achievement of the third grade of SDN Purwantoro 2 Malang.
