Abstract

Potato (Solanum tuberosum. L) is the fourth biggest food resources in the world after rice, wheat and corn. Low production of potato in Indonesia caused by several factors, one of them is the low fulfillment of qualified potato seed at farm level. Multiplication of potato can be done by shoot cutting, provided with increment of Bioroot, a growth regulator substance, contain hormones such as NAA, BAP and GA3. This research aimed to review the effects of different Bioroot concentration to the AP-4 potato shoot cutting growth.This research is a factorial research of two factors, arranged using Randomized Completely Block Design. The first factor was Bioroot concentration consisted of 5 levels; K5 = 5% Bioroot concentration, K10 = 10% Bioroot concentration, K15 = 15% bioroot concentration, K20 = 20% bioroot concentration, and K25 = 25% Bioroot concentration. The second factor was cutting variation, consisted of 3 levels; JR1 = 1 joint, JR2 = 2 joints, JR3 = 3 joints, repeated for three times. Research parameter covered the time where the roots appeared, accretion of shoot’s height, increase number of leaf, diameter of stem and root length. Observation data was analyzed using F test to find out variety of treatment. If there are variety of treatment, will be continued using BNJ test in 5% level. The result showed tangible interaction between Bioroot concentration and joint number in observation variable when root appeared and root length, meanwhile interaction in accretion of shoot’s height, increase number of leaf and diameter of stem showed intangible interaction.
