Abstract

Vegetables have an important role in life. Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), vegetables commodities such as cabbage and tomato have a relatively high increase in the year 2015-2016 that is 11.31% and 5.07%, these are inversely proportional to the commodity of potato vegetables declined far harvest per hectare is -0.8%. Problems that resulted in decreasing productivity of crops of vegetable crops one of which will adaya existence of pests. The presence of these pests if not controlled can cause significant damage to the crops resulting in a lack of crop productivity. Based on this situation the potential of microorganisms that live in the area of rhizosphere can be used as a biological fertilizer. Biological Fertilizer serves as a provided of nutrients to improve soil fertility and plant quality through biological activities (microorganisms) that interact with the physical and chemical properties of the soil. Therefore, rhizobacterial isolates in tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.) and potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) are capable of biological fertilizers and have the potential to synthesize fitohormon and osmoprotectan in their cell extracellular to assist the growth and development of plants by way of exploration and characteristics macroscopically. This research was conducted at Central Biotechnology Development Laboratory of University of Muhammadiyah Malang, for 6 months, starting from March until September 2017. The results obtained from this study are the 3 best bacterial isolates (IRK1 10-3 Putih, IRT3 10-2 Putih and IRT3 10-4 Coklat) both in terms of bacterial growth and the ability to synthesize Fitohormon (increase growth and crop production) in the form of cytokines, giberelin and auksin and Osmoprotektan (tolerance to drought) such as glycine, alanine, proline and glutamine so that the isolates can be referred to as biological fertilizer for plants.
