Abstract

Red onion has a significance role in society, especially for the housewives. Red onion is used as cooking spices, hence it has high economic value. However, the productivity of red onion is still low compared to its yield potential that can reach 20 tons/hectare. One of the ways to increase the red onion yield is by fertilization, but in practice, the application of fertilization is still inefficient. Therefore, the finding of this study is to understand the effect of various organic fertilizers and doses of organic fertilizers that is effective for red onion crop. This study used Factorial Randomized Block Design with the first factor. The results showed that there was not interaction between the treatments in all parameter. Organic fertilizer treatment only had significance effect on plant height at 6 weeks after planting, whereas there was not significance effect on organic fertilizer doses treatment at all parameter. Organic fertilizer + husk charcoal (P2) treatment resulted the higher means on plant height (33,25 cm).
