Abstract

The background of this research is high and often children watch television can interfere with students' learning behavior, often children watch television can be time consuming to learn, especially learning at home. Discipline homeschooled one task (homework). Resulting in student learning outcomes is still very low, especially social studies. This is all due to the habits of students who watch too much entertainment on television. Based on the above reasoning that the habit of watching television has a strong influence to the student learning behavior. Learning behavior is a very important activity and should be done throughout life. This research was conducted at SDN 01 Pujiharjo, District Tirtoyudo, Malang. This study aims to assess and describe the relationship on television watching habits by studying the behavior of students at SDN 01 Pujiharjo Malang. This study used a quantitative research field, by questionnaire and documentation where to obtain data about the relationship on television watching habits on the behavior of the students learn some vital lessons in social studies. The population in this study were all students at SDN 01 Pujiharjo, with a sample size of 30 students. From the results of questionnaire variables in the habit of watching television (X) is known to have a high percentage of 57.8% as much as the students' learning and behavioral variables (Y) are quite low with the percentage of 40.3% of the 30 students. Judging from the results of the analysis of data obtained by the correlation coefficient between the viewing habits of the students' learning habits of 0.591 the value is included in the category of strong or has a strong relationship criteria. Thus it can be concluded that the habit of watching television (X) with the students' learning behavior (Y) has a strong degree of relationship. So the habit of watching television is very influential to the learning outcomes in social studies at SDN 01 Pujiharjo Malang.
