Abstract

One of the ways to increase the yield of yardlong bean production is by paying attention to yardlong bean line/variety. The need for vegetables have been increasing as the people care more about healthy and nutritonally balanced foods. Yardlong bean as one of many type of vegetables can be an easy choice for most people. The finding of this study is to have an understanding about yardlong beans’ productivity in Blitar Regency, East Java. The study was conducted from March 2017 to July 2017 in Tambakan Village, Gandusari District, Blitar Regency, East Java. The study used Randomized Complete Blcok Design (RCBD), consisting of 12 treatments: GM-1, GM-2, GM-5, GM-6, GM-10, GM-11, GM-12, GM-13, GM-19, GM-23, GM-25, GM-27 with 3 replication. Observation variables consisted of time of flowering, time of harvesting, pods weight, pod length, number of pods, and fruit set. Data was analyzed using F test at 1% and 5% level to understand the effect from the treatments. If there is significance effect, the data then is anaylzed using Honest Significance Different (HSD) test at level of 5% to understand the different effect of the treatments. The program that was used for data analysis is Microsoft Excel 2010. The results showed that GM-19 line had higher productivity with 7,022 tons/ha of pods weight compared to GM 1 (4,815 tons/ha), GM 13 (4,469 tons/ha), GM 11 (4,197 tons/ha), GM 10 (4,128 tons/ha), GM 23 (4,113 tons/ha) GM 5 (3,936 tons/ha) GM 25 (3,881 tons/ha), GM 6 (3,826 tons/ha), GM 2 (3,782 tons/ha), GM 12 (3,656 tons/ha), and GM 27 (2,125 tons/ha).
