Abstract

According to Central Bureau of Statistics and Directorate General of Horticulture (2013), the onion production in 2010 decreased from 1.048.934 tons to 893.124 tons in 2011, but in 2012, it increased slightly to 960.072 tons. This proves that the availability of onion in the country was still low compared to the high for onion, thus the productivity of onion in Indonesia needs to be improved. One of the efforts to improve onion yield is the application of technology in onion cultivation, that is fertilization. Oyster mushroom baglog wastes can be made into compost by adding decomposers and other organic materials. The research was conducted using Randomized Block Design which was arrange in Split Plot. The Main Plot consisted of 100% manure (P0), 75% manure + 25% mushroom wastes (P1), 50% manure + 50% mushroom wastes (P2), 25% manure and 75% mushroom wastes (P3), and 100% mushroom wastes (P4). The Sub Plot consisted of without decomposer application (D0), and decomposer application (D1). All treatments repeated 3 times. The collected data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dan tested uisng Honest Significant Different Test at 5%. The result obtained that there was no interaction between manure + mushroom waste with decomposer application to all growth and yield observation parameters of onion. Decomposer application treatments had a significant effect on number of leaves at 15 days after planting (18,98) 20 days after planting, (20,33) 25 days after planting, (23,47) 30 days after planting, (25,76) and 35 days after planting, (26,11) and on plant height at 35 days after planting (33,21cm). 100% mushroom waste resulted higher compared to other treatments, that is 8,89 tumbers.
