Abstract

The intersection is one vaneu that causes most common traffic issue namely traffic congestion. The three-intersectionalong Jl. Airlangga to Jl. Masjid and the three-intersection of Jl. Airlangga to Jl. Hasanuddin and Jl. Pahlawan are the venue where traffic congestion mostly occured in Mojosari due to disordered traffic flow and the existence of public fasilities along the street which reduce the capasity of vehicle volume. The absence of traffic signs and traffic light causes long queue and traffic delay on each tip junction. This research aims at finding out the traffic flow volume on each tip junction along with situation and condition at uncontrolled intersection prior to the planning of signal phase managenet in accordance to the traffic flow and the intersection area. The research lasted for 7 days on each intersection from 6 am to 6 pm. The result of the study showed that the DS value of uncontrolled three-intersection of Jl. Airlangga – Jl. Masjid = 0.87 and the DS value of the uncontrolled three-intersection of Jl. Airlangga – Jl. Hasanuddin – Jl. Pahlawan = 1.04. After the traffic light installation planning of three signs, the DS at the cuncontrolled three-intersection of Jl. Airlangga – Jl. Masjid reached the value of 0.72 with the average delay on every intersection reached 41,25 pcu/sec, and the DS for uncontrolled three-intersection of Jl. Airlangga to Jl. Hasanuddin and Jl. Pahlawan reached 0.74 with an average delay of 41,97 pcu/sec.
