Abstract

Teaching materials is one of the most important parts in the learning process. In the process of teaching and learning in elementary school there are the main teaching materials such as thematic books and companion teaching materials such as LKS. The LKS used in schools are LKS published by publishers in general , the contains a summary of material and practice questions. It is the same as in SDN Purwantoro 2 Malang. Based on the results of observations and interviews that have been done by the students are less interested in using LKS because LKS display less interesting and its nature is still closed. Based this, it has necessary to develop LKS that is able to attract students' attention and make students more active in learning process, so the researchers choose to develop thematic LKS based on Contextual Teaching and Learning, CTL model selection in order that the knowledge obtained can be linked to the daily life of the students The thematic of LKS based on Contextual Teaching and Learning is developed in using Research and Development (R & D) that is one of the model developed by Borg and Gall which is modified to 9 steps, 1) the potential and problem, 2) collection of data, 3) design product, 4) validation design, 5) revised design, 6) product trial, 7) product revision, 8) trial usage, 9) product revision. Technique of data collecting done by using observation, interview, and questionnaire, while the technique of data analysis using two techniques those are, qualitative data and quantitative data. Based on the results of research and development that has been done, the results obtained from the validation of expert materials obtained by the results of the percentage of 97% with the category of "very decent"; (2) From material experts obtained the result with a percentage of 90.4% with the category "very reasonable"; (3) From the learning expert obtained the result with the percentage of 91,6% with category "very feasible. The results obtained from the questionnaire of students' responses to measure attractiveness, effectiveness, and also the attractiveness of the results obtained Testing percentage 94.5%, it can be categorized baha student response "very good". So it can be concluded that the contextual LKS Contextual Teaching and Learning developed valid, attractive, effective and feasible to use.
