Abstract

Petroleum production is by using traditional way without an appropriate management of the standard operating procedure will cause impacts on the surrounding environment. The Exploitation of petroleum products which certainly pulls out waste in the form of gases and fumes indicated that the entry of pollutants into the air in the area can be decreased. So, it involves aspects of activities that are at risk of going on air pollution. One of the ways of monitoring air pollution is by used plants as bio indicator i.e. the cherry crop (Muntingia calabura L.). The Part of a plant that is sensitive to the polluters and most often exposed is the leaf areas. The effect of air pollution on the leaves microscopically can cause damage to chlorosis and necrosis also the low levels of chlorophyll. The purpose of this research is to find out the morphology changing of plant chlorophyll levels and Cherry (Muntingia calabura L.) at each station, as well as providing new developed innovation as a source of learning in biology. The sampling method used in this research is purposive sampling. The sample is analyzed using uv-vis spectrophotometry method of 1800. The results showed that morphological changes at each station.It characterized by leaves that yellow discoloration experience symptoms and some parts of the leaves appear brownish red. The result of the chlorophyll levels on each station varies. Average levels of chlorophyll a, b and total highest i.e 5 stations of 32.527 mg/ml, 18.715 mg/ml and 51.228 mg/ml whereas levels of chlorophyll a, b and total the lowest i.e. 10.101 of station 2 mg/ml, 7.443 mg/ml and 17.540 mg/ml.
