Abstract

The application of Character Education (PPK) in Public Primary School Mulyorejo 1 Malang which is embedded in English language extracurricular in fact is still relatively new. Therefore, there is a need for research that attempts to analyze the implementation of Character Education in its planning and implementation on English extracurricular. This study aims to: (1) explaining the application of Character Education (PPK) on English extracurricular in Public Primary School Mulyorejo 1 Malang (2) explaining the obstacles faced in the application of Character Education (PPK) on English extracurricular in Public Primary School Mulyorejo 1 Malang 3) explaining the solution in overcoming the obstacle of applicating the Character Education (PPK) on English extracurricular in Public Primary School Mulyorejo 1 Malang. This research used qualitative research and descriptive research a the type. For the data source, some English extracurricular teacher are selected and the principal at Public Primary School Mulyorejo 1 Malang. This research was conducted in May unti; July 2018. The results showed (1) the application of Character Education in English extracurricular at the planning stage showed there are still some components of lesson plan that are not in accordance with the existing lesson guidance. At the implementation stage of the 5 the main character value, it has been done well but not all sub values delivered to the students (2) The obstacles which faced is the difficulty of the students for reasoning the willing from the teacher, and family factors that are less supportive in the implementation of this Character Education (3) The solutions which implemented by the school is to provide the continuous character habituation and conduct each evaluation in each end of learning session. The conclusion of this research, the application of Character Education (PPK) in English extracurricular in Public Primary School Mulyorejo 1 Malang is embedded 5 main character values but only 9 sub values is applied by the teacher. Those character are discipline (Nationalist), proud to be citizen (Nationalist), appreciate different religions and belief (Religious), responsibility (integrity), candor (integrity) respect for the dignity of the individual (Integrity), courage (independent), and self-less (mutual cooperation).
