Abstract

Based on interviews and observation of learning activities in second grade of Purwantoro 1 Malang Elementary School that they are already using student work sheet as one of teaching materials in class, they get that from publisher and they use student work sheet less than the maximum. Basic competencies in the student work sheet do not match with the syllabus used. In addition, the activities in student work sheet only write the answer of questions by moving the reading text into the column of questions so it made students are not active in learning. Therefore, the development of student work sheet is needed to make learning activities being easier for students and teachers to achieve the learning objectives with the basic competencies that have been determined through activities accordance with the 2013 curriculum using five steps of scientific approach so learning activities becomes active, creative, and fun. This research aims to develop scientifically based student work sheet on subtheme plays in tourist attractions and to know the student's response to the development of scientifically based student work sheet on subtheme plays in tourist attractions for second grade elementary school. This scientifically based student work sheet use a 4-D development model there is define, design, development, and disseminate. The define phase aims to describe the requirements of the learning activities which consist of five steps, namely front analysis, learner analysis, task analysis, concept analysis, and specifying instructional objectives. At the design stage aims to designing teaching materials that accordance with the material and curriculum, this stage consists of three steps, namely media selection, format selection, and initial design. At the development phase the student work sheet that has been designed are validating by the validator of material experts and teaching material experts to find out that teaching materials are worth testing or not. The last one is the disseminate, in this phase student work sheet which has been declared valid through the revision process according to the validator's advice will be tested with students to find out the student's response. The results of developing scientifically student work sheets on subtheme plays in tourist attractions with five activities of scientific approach, namely observing, asking, reasoning, trying, and communicating. The implementation of learning using scientifically based student worksheets are categorized as valid with percentage of the average value of the validator's overall aspects of assessment results, that is 91.61%, and the results of student responses with an average percentage of 96.19% that categorized as good criteria. Therefore, scientifically based student work sheet on subtheme plays in tourist attractions for second grade elementary school is developed to make learning activities become active, creative, and fun to achieve learning objectives.
