Abstract

Soppeng Regency is one of the areas the development of farming rice cultivation techniques of applying conventional system and the system of planting seeds directly using “Campa”. This research has the purpose of: 1) analyse the comparison of fee structures in rice farming with techniques of planting the conventional system and the system of planting seed directly and 2) know the factors that affect farmers switch to apply the system planting the seed right away and know the decision most farmers still choose conventional system of planting techniques (planting moved). The results of this research are 1) fee structures different from the conventional system of farming system of planting seeds directly, total production costs incurred in conventional systems of each planting season is bigger than on direct seed planting of system, from revenues received direct seed planting system farmers greater than conventional systems, and conventional systems as well as direct seed planting system already efficient with values of R/C ratio system of planting seed directly 3.74 much larger accounting system of values of R/C ratio 2.98; 2) factors that affect farmers are planting the seeds of the system apply the switch directly differenciated into two simultaneously and is partial. Simultaneously variable age (X1), land area (X2), the use of Labor (X3), the use of capital (X4), and acceptance (X5) effect significantly to decisions of farmers switched to planting direct seed systems. Partially, all free variables do not affect significantly to decisions of farmers switched to planting direct seed systems; and 3) decision most farmers still choose conventional system of planting techniques due to the ability to financially underprivileged farmers, so the price of the tools "Campa " not affordable.
