Abstract

Share strategy in improving students' speaking skill. The research design was quantitative in form of pre experimental research with one group pre-test and post-test only. The population of the research was eleventh grade students of senior high school level. The researcher took XI MIPA 2 class of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Malang as the sample of the study which consists of 20 students. Based on the t-test calculation of pre-test and post-test, it showed a significant improvement towards students speaking skill score. The mean score of the pre-test was 33.00, while the post-test score reached 52.40. Moreover, the t-test value was -7.156 with the value of probability .000. Since the difference was not significance (=5%), it means that the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. In other words, there was a significant improvement on students speaking skill after they were taught by using Think Pair Share strategy.
