Abstract

Life satisfaction emerged from the surface of the needs or expectations. If the person's needs and expectations that can be achieved, then it can achieve the desired satisfaction. Life satisfaction is achieved and the individual will be able to overcome various problems in his life, if life has meaning. Self-esteem is one of the most important aspect of personality, because the self-esteem is very influential on a person's behavior. This is because self-esteem plays a role in the process of thinking, emotions, ideals, and goals to be reached someone. The importance of self-esteem needs can be achieved with a confidence that is competent and able to overcome the problems of life. Having a fragile self-esteem means do not get along with life and feel guilty about themselves. This research is a regression that aims to determine the effect self-esteem on life satisfaction in women working and unemployed women. The subject of this study were 60 women with purposive random sampling technique. Methods of data collection is done by using a scale of self-esteem and life satisfaction scale. Test the validity of using the technique and reliability test product moment menggiunakan cronbach while data analysis technique used is regression. From the regression analysis in general for all women the value of F = 101.473; sig / p = 0.000 to disimpulakan that independent variables have a significant influence on the dependent variable while the analysis in particular, namely self-esteem and life satisfaction in women working and women do not work F value obtained, respectively, 62.735 and 42.080 and the value of r2 0.691 and 0.600. The effective contribution obtained was 69.1% in self-esteem and life satisfaction in women working and 60% in women does not work while the rest was influenced by other factors had not been examined.
