Abstract

Learning strategies required teachers to be more creative in using a variety of innovative methods that are expected to achieve a learning objective, which can cover three aspects, cognitive aspects, aspects of the affective, and psychomotor aspects. The study goals is (1) to determine the level of student achievement of basic competencies of junior class VIII C SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Malang of the material body treatment using lecture methods and simulation methods. (2) to determine differences in achievement levels of basic competency levels by VIII C grade 1 SMP Muhammadiyah Malang to the material body treatments using the lecture method and simulation methods. This kind of study is experiment with using the model of pre­test and post­test. There are two kinds of post test, post test on the learning by using a lecture method and post test learning with simulation methods. Instruments that used for test purposes is kuisioner post. Therefore, primary methods of collecting data in this study is closed kuisioner with each of the three items are provided three levels of response and level scored 3­2­1. And between the post test 1 and post test 2 used the same kuesener. The conclusion of study that lecture method is less able to form a pattern of student understanding in understanding the material presented and less able to form psychomotor skills or abilities at the student, while learning more simulation method could form the pattern of student understanding in understanding the material and can form psychomotor skills or abilities to be better the student.
