Abstract

The objectives of the study were to determine the effect of adding probiotics Migro artificial feed supplementation on growth in specific, vannamei shrimp feed conversion ratio and the best dosage supplementation. This research was conducted at the Technical Implementation Unit of Salty Water Aquaculture Development (UPT-PBAP) Bangil Pasuruan, East Java on February 5 to March 29, 2010. The materials used was vannamei shrimp post larvae ± 25 days of age for about 300 larvaes. The research method based on experiment with Completely Randomized Design (CRD), whereas the data analysis conducted through variance analysis. The treatment in this study consisted of five doses of treatments, 0 ml / kg, 1.5 ml / kg, 3 ml / kg, 4.5 ml / kg, and 6 ml / kg where each treatment was repeated 3 times. The main parameter used was the instantaneous growth rate / Specific Growth Rate (SGR) and feed conversion ratio. The supporting parameters was the maintenance of liquid quality media. The results showed that administration of probiotic supplements with different doses of Migro influenced significantly toward the specific growth rate and feed conversion ratio of shrimp vannamei where F count> F table 5% and 1%. A treatment which gave specific growth rate and best feed conversion ratio obtained in treatment C with 3 ml / kg dose per feed. Specific growth rate in treatment C at 4.562% BW / day, and feed conversion ratio in treatment C for baout 1.57. Water quality during the period of the study was still within the range of a decent life vannamei shrimp on the average water temperature 28.75 - 29.45 °C, salinity 16 ppt, pH 7.5 - 7.6, and DO between 6.72 to 7 , 1 mg / l. It might be concluded that the addition of Migro supplements probiotic in diet gives a significant different effect on specific growth rate and feed conversion ratio of vannamei shrimp. In order to obtain the specific growth rate and feed conversion ratio, the author suggested to provide Migro probiotic supplement in the diet at of 3 ml / kg doses per feed.
