Abstract
The purposes of this research are : (1) to know interaction between various media usage and liquid fertilizer concentrations on sansiviera seedlings growth. (2) to know suitable planting medium for sansiviera seedlings growth. (3) to know suitable liquid fertilizer concentration to enhance sansiviera seedlings. This research used factorial randomized block design (RBD) using two factors. Each factor consists of three levels with three replications. Those factors are: (1) factor I : various planting media (M), including 3 levels, namely : M1 : soil + compost + hull ( 1:1:1), M2 : soil + compost + coconut peat (1:1:1), M3 : soil + compost + bamboo cripples. Factor II: liquid fertilizer concentrations (C) consisting of 3 levels, namely : C1 : 2 ml per litre water, C2 : 4 ml per litre water, C3 : 6 ml per litre water. The observation is conducted when plant age is 1 week after planting (WAP) until 12 weeks after planting. Meanwhile, the observed parameter taken in this research comprise longest leaf length, average leaf length, leaf width, leaf numbers, and sapling numbers. To know effect of treatment application, entire data from the observation results are entered into analysis of variance using test F, accompanied with Duncan test with 5 % level. On the basis of research methodology, following results were acquired as follow: (1) there is no such interaction between various media and liquid fertilizer on all research variables, except on leaf number addition on age of 6 WAP. The best treatment of various media and liquid fertilizer concentration is M1C2 treatment (soil + compost + hull ( 1:1:1) with 4 ml per litre water) which resulted in highest score on parameter of leaf number addition although it was unsignificantly different with M1C3 and M2C3 treatments. (2) treatment of various planting media was unsignificantly on variables of leaf addition and length, leaf width, leaf numbers, and sprouting numbers except on variable of leaf numbers on 6 WAP observation, when planting medium of M1 is used (soil + compost + hull ( 1:1:1). (3) treatment of liquid fertilizer concentrations is significantly different on longest leaf length on 4 – 12 WAP observation, average leaf length on 12 WAP observation, leaf width on 12 WAP observation, and leaf numbers on 6 & 7 WAP observation, while liquid fertilizer concentration of 6 ml/litre water is the best treatment for enhancing sansiviera seedlings growth.
