Abstract

Keyword : Performance Assessment. This research described the performance assessment of English subject at grade XI KPR2 of SMKN 11 Malang. Performance assessment requires students to accomplish complex and significant tasks, knowledge in developing the skill. In this case, performance assessment was important to be applied because it could measure the studentÂ’ knowledge of English subject. Moreover, this research attempted to answer (1) the implementation of performance assessment of English subject at grade XI KPR2 of SMKN 11 Malang, (2) the studentsÂ’ responses to the performance assessment of English subject. This research used descriptive qualitative method as research design. The writer used subject of the study, they were the English teacher and students. Moreover, in collecting the data, the writer used an interview, observation and questionnaire. They were held to collect the data about performance assessment and students responses. The writer investigated the implementation of performance assessment that applied by English teacher and studentsÂ’ responses at grade XI KPR2 of SMKN 11 Malang. Based on the result of data analysis, the writer found that in implementing performance assessment, The teacher gave tasks, make group of discussion and interactive learning. It was held to expand studentsÂ’ performance to English subject. Fourthly, studentsÂ’ responses to the performance assessment were positive in which almost all of 35 students are active in learning process.
