Abstract
Breastfeeding for infants who are still growing is very important, it is known that breast milk contains zatzat natural antibodies are not found in infant formula. The excess milk was recognized by the manufacturers of formula milk is therefore in every tin or box always stated that infant formula milk is best food for infants and milk formula only as a nutritional supplement not a substitute for breastmilk. Excess milk is another certainly does not require cost and time of administration may at any time, but who also need to be considered is the intake nutrition breastfeeding mothers. In the golden period of infants, ie 03 year recommended a mother exclusively breast feed because of the time the baby's brain began to develop perfect. Counseling is a reciprocal relationship between counselor and client (counselee), in solve the problems of particular with interviews conducted face to face or with the ways appropriate to the circumstances client, so the client can express his heart freely. Counseling in the sense public under Kartasapoetra (1987:2), is a social science that studies the system and process of change on individuals and society for the realization of the changes tersebutdapat achieved what was expected according to the pattern or plan. Counseling is an act of providing information to the community using teknikteknik particular. The purpose of education is to change behaviors that can be changes in knowledge, attitudes and action. While breastfeeding counseling functions defined in this study is the existence changes that arise due to absorption of science and knowledge through extension activities, which is expected to change the understanding ibuibu about breastfeeding. It could be argued that the function of counseling (education institution)is to describe the information with the knowledge that is always growing. This type of research is explanative. Data collection methods used in this study were questionnaire, observation, and documentation. Data collection techniques through: 1) Questionnaire 2) Observation 3) Documentation. Data used in this study It consists of two, namely: 1) Primary data 2) Secondary data: Data that has been obtained in this study were processed using the analysis: 1) simple linear regression analysis 2)Product moment correlation analysis. Berdaarkan results of the research obtained following results: 1. Opt ibuibu in this extension program can be quite high Karema most ibuibu followed 3 times extension held until the completion 2. Understanding ibuibu about breastfeeding can be quite high because of their average understand the pentignya milk. 3. The effect of the extension itself towards understanding ibuibu because the level of understanding also influenced by media exposure or frequent absence ibuibu household read and watch TV.
