Abstract

There were hypertension which was followed with the increasing of stroke risk, cardiac arrest, aterosclerosis, and the most important chronical artery disease whih was followed with myocard infarct and suddenly death. Stroke in the third grade as factor caused of death after heart disease and cancer. The research problem in the study is the differences of social characteristics hypertension patients with stroke because of hypertension. Dealing with the research method, this study used descriptive comparative method. The result of the research showed that the dominant hypertension patients were about 41­46 years old, the job descriptions as civil worker and retired worker, their income for about Rp 250.000,­ up to Rp 749.000,­, women, and senior high school education background. In other hand stroke patients because of hypertension was about 41­46 years old, their job is so as civil worker or retired worker, their income more than Rp 750.000,­, men, junior high school education background. The suggestions are needed to give illumination about the important of how to handle hypertension well so it is not continued strike which supporting by availability of data about social characteristics that often happen, and more research about social characteristcs hypertension patients and stroke which caused of hypertension.
