Radio refers to a mass media to provide the modulated messages such as sign (morse), words(talk), sounds, etc, to be transmitted through electromagnetic wave in high frequency into the air by antenna hence called as transmitter. (Djuroto, 2007). Radio Pro 2 FM remains as a typical infotainment channel radio, subsidiary of RRI of Malang Station. The question raises: Whether the broadcasted shows really represent the infotainment channel or not. To respond this question needs to involve the audience of Radio Pro 2 FM to provide their perception about the image of this radio as infotainment channel. Research locates at Radio Pro 2 FM RRI of Malang Station. The problem of research considers the perception of the image of Radio Pro 2 FM as infotainment channel radio. The objective of research seems to examine the audience's perception on the image of Radio Pro 2 FM as infotainment channel radio. Research uses descriptive type. Sample used counts to 50 audiences. Sample determination concerns with purposive sampling technique in which sample has been taken with authorbased criteria. Data collection involves questionnaire and documentation. Data analysis technique submits to descriptive statistic. Results of research indicate that the average value of program indicator reaches 1.67 for any shows broadcasted by Radio Pro 2 FM. The value put this radio station into very good position, meaning that the image of Radio Pro 2 FM as infotainment channel radio deserves positive perception. The average value of segmentation indicator gets 1.86, in which the value comes into very good category and means that the indicator has positive perception. In the last indicator, the announcer of Radio Pro 2 FM has 1.71 average value, meaning that it includes within very good category and the indicator has positive perception. According to these results on indicators, Radio Pro 2 FM RRI of Malang Station provides a positive perception on the position of infotainment channel radio in which all indicators enter into very good category. Other researches should consider these findings as a guide for further review. It seems also expected that the research contributes its reference to the other subsequent research. The management of Radio Pro 2 FM RRI of Malang Station must maintain its positive image as infotainment channel radio.
