Abstract

Indonesia and Malaysia are countries that already had closed relations before Malaysia's independence. The ups and downs of Their relations often occur to this day, several factors regarding the heated relations between the two countries are caused by the historicity of cultural heritage and the diversity of their people. Until 2018 where there were various kinds of domestic political issues and political turmoil in Malaysia after the 14th general election. This study aims to discuss how the influence of the election of Muhyiddin Yasin as interim prime minister and his policies towards TKI for the 2019-2021 period, starting from an explanation of the political dynamics that occurred in Malaysia after the 14th general election in 2018 until the election of Muhyiddin Yasin as acting PM temporary. The research method used is a type of descriptive research that is used to find out and analyze a problem phenomenon through exposure and analysis with a clear theoretical framework. The researcher found domestic political and policy issues related to the issue of Indonesian Migrant Workers which caused a rift between the two parties until a solution that was good for both parties was found. Thus, researchers were able to find the influence of the election of Muhyiddin Yasin and his policies regarding the issue of migrant workers for the 2019-2021 period.
