Abstract

Learning is a process, an activity and not an outcome or goal. Learn not only remember but also experience. The results of studying not only the mastery of the exercises, but rather changes in behavior In fact the fourth grade students of SDN 02 Temas Batu still experiencing difficulties in learning “Sciences” (IPA). The average value is far from our expectations as a teacher. At the time of execution they have only passive, playing and only some of them be studying. At the time of posttest by the teachers implement most students can not answer that question. Alleged failures of the teacher factor in delivering the material is still oriented to the textbook, the use of less effective methods of discussion, prioritizing aspects of cognitive and learning situations which enable students and no less enjoyable for students. Refer to reality and the assumptions of the importance to enhance learning on student achievement, particularly in the subjects of “Sciences” IPA) in elementary school so it is important for teachers as those who take full responsibility in the process and outcomes of learning to find appropriate solutions of the problems. One effort to improve student achievement in subject matter learning of “Sciences” (IPA) which can be taken by the teacher is to do Classroom Action Research. In this case the researchers took the title "The application of Demontration methods to improve the understanding of the concept the object shape changes in students of fourth Class in state Elementary School of Temas 02 Batu"
