Abstract

Lesson plan is a short term plan that is broken down from syllabus for one or more meetings. Lesson plan is very important for the teacher as the preparation before teaching. This study concerned to the implementation of lesson plan and the problems faced by the teacher in implementing the lesson plan. The purpose of this study was to describe and find the problems faced the teacher in implementing the lesson plan in the fifth grade at SDN Beji 2 Batu. In this study, the researcher used a descriptive qualitative design because the writer wanted to describe the phenomena about implementing the lesson plan by the English teacher at SDN Beji 2 Batu in the fifth grade. The subject of this study was the English teacher who teaches at SDN Beji 2 Batu. To collect the data, the researcher used observation, interview, and documentation. The data were analyzed by comparing the teachers’ document with the result of observation done by the researcher. To complete the data, the researcher conducted the interview with the teacher. The finding showed that the teacher had implemented lesson plan in teaching English. However, the implementation of the lesson plan was simple. It means that there were many activities that should be done by the teacher. There were some vocabulary which has no spelled in the third observation because limited time. Moreover, the condition of the students was very crowded. The teacher find problems in implementing lesson plan; there were time allocating and situation of the class. Thus, it can be concluded that the teacher had implemented of lesson plan but the implementation was not completely because there were some activities which had not been done. There were two problems faced by the English teacher in implementing the lesson plan.
