Wanting to be in the atmosphere of the 17th century that was Indian artistry era? Or seeing the other side of poor Americans in the camp of farm laborers of peanut fields? Or, wanting to see Abraham Lincoln, the former President of the United States in the version of the ordinary people, with a dark suit, white shirt and butterfly tie askew? All of them could be witnessed at the exhibition "Picturing America" at the third floor of UMM Central Library, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Exhibition of art paintings and photographs of American art work artists was opened on Friday, (3/5) and will last until next Friday (3/12). UMM is the first host of "Picturing America" before it will be held as road show to Jakarta and Medan by the Embassy of the United States for Indonesia. Public Affairs Officer of U.S. Consulate General in Surabaya, Andie DeArment, when he was opening the event expressed that he wanted to introduce America closer.
