Abstract
As social creature, human being always connected with other such as in family, neighborhood, , school, and also same age friends. Human being need and always try to open new relation and interaction to other. Almost all time, used for met someone. One of human being tools to connect with other is communication. It’s have a very important role to grow our intellectuals and social relationship or our self esteem will formed with communicate with other. Sometimes there is an individual conflict because of communication. To avoid conflict, it’s need a communication openly and trustworthy to other. This research is qualitative research pointed to know the assertivity differences level between Javanese and Maduranese undergraduate. Tight variable of this research is assertivity level and release variable is ethnic, that are Javanese and Maduranese. The research population is 755 undergraduate of Faculty of Physical Exercises Public University of Malang. Sample taken technique is purposive sampling with Likert Scale Method as a collect data method. The sample’s research take 30 Javanese and 30 Maduranese. This research conduct in 24 – 27 May 2008 at Public University of Malang. The research using t – test statistical analysis method with SPSS for Windows version 13.0 program. The result research is there is significant differences of assertifity level between Javanese and Maduranese, showing with (t = 3.218 and p = 0.002) value, means that assertivity of Maduranese is higher than (X = 127.37) Javanese with (X = 118.07)
