Movie is one of media that contains sounds, video, animation, pictures and etc. Movie does not only give us entertainment but also education because from movie we can understand about the development of lives, science, art, and technology that we do not know before. There are many people who are interested in movie. Movie is supposed to be an image of the real world In this thesis, the writer focuses on slang used by all characters in "The Bank Job" movie. More specifically, this study deals with the purposes: to know what the slang and the meaning used in "The Bank Job movie" are; and to know what the word formation processes of slangs used in "The Bank Job movie" are. This study used qualitative document analysis research design because the researcher described and interpreted the phenomena that existed in "The Bank Job" movie regarding to slang used by all the characters in the movie, also because the data were based on the direct source of data in film, scripts, references, or other document, such as dictionary, in this case, the writer not only watch the movie but also read the movieÂ’s script to find the data accurately, specifically, and more detail about slang. The researcher described and interpreted the slang, the meaning, and the word-formation process used by all the characters in "The Bank Job" movie. The finding showed there were some slangs in "the Bank Job" movie. The writer found out 48 slangs used by the actors and the actress in the dialog. The meanings of slang presented here based on dictionaries. Besides, there were 9 processes of word formation appeared. The biggest percentage among the twelve words - formation processes is the process of compounding.There were 15 slangs in the form of compounding process. Then, the percentage followed by the process of derivation, conversion, clipping, coinage, borrowing, multiple process, backformation, and blending.
