Abstract

According to development the new drug of NSAID group derivate salicylate and to knowing the result of salicylamide’s structure preparation, preparation of Isobutyryl salicylamide had been done by reaction of salicylamide and isobutyryl chloride, based on Schotten-Baumann method. Then tested the purity by thin layer chromatography (TLC) and melting point. The compound was identified by using the spectrophotometric data of ultra-violet, infra-red and also the 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometric. The yield of the compound preparation was 0,79% with organoleptic crystal, with and no smell. The melting point was 97-98oC and at thin layer chromatography with three different eluent produced single spot and the yield of the compound have different Rf with salycilamide as master compound. Idintified structure by spectrophotometer UV-Vis had been produced the maximum peak absorption at lambda 301,2 nm, then with spectrophotometer IR had been showed cluster function of –NH at lambda 3319,26 cm-1, cluster function of C=O at lambda 1679,88 cm-1 and 1614,31 cm-1, and had been showed cluster function C=C at lambda 1581,52 cm-1, and then the last identified structure with 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer the compound had been 12 atom H. From the result of research had been done showed the yield of compound preparation was isobutyry salycilamide as purpose of preparation with 0,79% percentage of preparation.
