Abstract

Twitter is popular media for digital immigrant. For the digital immigrant timeline in twitter make strengthen of brotherhood and became newest information. The research was based on the fact that the digital immigrant especially the teenagers usually used vulgarism language in their daily conversation or writing status update on twitter. The researcher wants to know about the perception of digital native toward the timeline ‘twitter’ of digital immigrant. In conducting this study, the writer applied qualitative research as the research design because the writer would describe the digital native’s perception toward the timeline ‘twitter’ of digital immigrant and the data collected in the form of words not in the form of numbers. The writer is act as researcher as instrument to collect the data. Tools used by the researcher are; questionerand observation because she had more freedom to make question and could improve the question. The writer did the research start on 3 – 4 September 2013. The result of this analysis showed that digital native tend to have positive perception toward the timeline by digital immigrant because it can express their felling and strengthen of brotherhood. The digital immigrant and the digital native have a twitter; it become a newest social media. Twitter also to provide to get faster information. It would showed that she/he was digital immigrant or digital native just look from the status update.
