Abstract

This research aims to identify the use and need for concentrates for goats in people's livestock businesses in the Dau sub-district, Malang Regency in 2023. Farmer respondents as research samples were taken from two villages in the Dau sub-district which were selected based on data from the sub-district which has the highest goat population. The research method was survey and observation carried out on selected breeders of 15 breeder families in each village. A total of 30 goat breeders as selected respondents were observed to obtain data on the use and need for concentrate to support goat productivity. The data obtained was analyzed quantitatively descriptively. The results of the research show that the use of concentrate raw materials in Mulyoagung village is more than in Gadingkulon village, in Mulyoagung Village these include rice bran, bran, tofu dregs, pollard, and factory concentrate, whereas in Gadingkulon Village there are not many types of concentrate raw materials used. There are variations in the raw materials that make up the concentrate, namely bran, tofu dregs and factory concentrate, but the nutritional adequacy of live body weight in these two villages has not been met. Feeding per head per day in Gadingkulon village is greater at 0.27 kg per head per day while in Mulyoagung village it is 0.22 kg per head per day. The conclusions for the use of concentrate in the villages of Mulyoagung and Gadingkulon are different..
