Abstract

Parents who have children with special needs have more challenges than parents who have normal children. The formation of character strengths can help and support parents in providing appropriate care and upbringing for their child's growth and development. One of the factors that can bring out character strength in individuals is spirituality. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between spiritual well-being and character strength in parents of children with special needs. The approach in this research uses quantitative correlational methods. This research uses measuring instruments in the form of the Spiritual Well-Being Scale and the VIA-IS scale which are distributed offline and online. Sampling used the Accidental Sampling technique with a total of 305 subjects. Based on the results of the Pearson product moment correlation test analysis, it can be seen that there is a positive relationship between spiritual well-being and character strength in parents of children with special needs with a value (r = 0.223 and sig = 0.00 < 0.05) which indicates the higher spiritual well-being the higher the strength of character in parents who have children with special needs
