This study has background on interesting of researcher to existance of communit radio of Tiara in covering district, whereas community radio is processed by societies directly. Based on the interview with organizer side, the goal of building this community radio “Tiara” as participation in communication side actively, education and information along with entertainment. But it is seen fact that community radio of “Tiara” have domination in music entertainment program, that are 80%. Beside that interview result with radio organizer/manager, researcher also did interview with Pujon societies that program which often is music entertainment. Thus early study was gained conclusion that function of community radio of Tiara as entertainment media. Based on this background, researcher want to study how perception of societies in Ngabab village about function of community radio of “Tiara” as entertaninment media. The goal of this study is to describe assessment and point of biew of societies about function of community radio of “Tiara” Perception is experience about object or relationship that gained with conclude and consider messages. In the societies, all of people have different perception . Radio have function as expression, communication, information, education and entertainment media. Where in process in social communication, function of radio for community as media to cover all of need and important of community members. Thus societies who be audience have different assessment about function of radio, that different assessment is caused every individual have different important in using community radio. By qualitative descriptive approach, using data collecting by interview and documentation. The studied informant who study subject have particular criteria. While to determine informant number use snow ball technique, which started from key informant to give point. Then data which be gained analyzing inductioninterpretationconceptualization. To inspection data validity use member check, that checking to informant. The study result which be gained in societies of Ngabab Village show that individual assessment about existence of community radio of “Tiara” attitude to support, because societies consider that consistence of community radio of “Tiara” have cover and fulfill societies importance and need. Although among information, education, communication and entertainment need unbalance in proportion need. By the way, it may be concluded that societies perception is based on societies concern in something which have small proportion but have advantage. Based on the above result, it can be recommended to manager of community radio of “Tiara” to give balance serving and give advantage to societies.
