Abstract

The salt water lantern fuel cell utilizes salt water as an electrolyte using aluminum rods as the anode and carbon sheets as the cathode. Because fuel cells can produce electrical energy, they can be applied to lighting or as a battery charging source. Changing the electrolyte solution in a fuel cell is the main thing so that the electrical energy produced can be stable, therefore an automatic electrolyte solution change control system was created. This system is designed to simplify human work in replacing solutions and maintain the stability of the electrical energy produced. The design of this tool aims to apply fuzzy logic to the solution change control system. Fuzzy logic is a method that can be used in control systems to make decisions based on rules using logic equations from case identification. This research was carried out by designing and implementing electronic components which include an Arduino Uno as a controller, a water pump, a salinity sensor to measure the salinity level of the solution, and a voltage sensor to measure the electrical energy produced by the fuel cell. The research results prove that the designed control system can function well.
