Abstract

The relationship between teachers and students can help the development of students Multiple Disabilities Visual Impairment. The teacher demanded to be able to approach their students, identify and affection, so that children who have Multiple Disabilities Visual Impairment feel comfort. Emotions that very unstable and build a good mood students to be one of the tasks of an educator . Teachers who educate children with special needs should have the ability to communicate to convey educational messages that students were able to receive well. Interpersonal communication between teachers and students is necessary to foster a harmonious relationship. Effective interpersonal communication is important to apply in teaching activities of teachers to students Multiple Disabilities Visual Impairment. This study aims to determine the model of interpersonal communication Multiple Disabilities teachers and students at the Sekolah Luar Biasa Mata Hati Banyuwangi. This study leads to interpersonal communication that teachers, because teachers act as an educator to help parents Multiple Disabilities Visual Impairment in serving the educational needs of students Multiple Disabilities Visual Impairment, and teachers can provide guidance to parents to address child Visual Multiple Disabilities impairment. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach to research subjects Multiple Disabilities teachers and students at the Sekolah Luar Biasa Mata Hati . Techniques of data collection by interview, observation and documentation . Data analysis in qualitative research through three stages, namely data reduction , data presentation, and verification. This study uses a model of interpersonal communication with social penetration theory . These results led to a model of interpersonal communication between teachers and students through the orientation phase, phase of the exchange, intimacy stage, and the stage depth is able to provide ease of communication . Transactional communication model applied by teachers in Sekolah Luar Biasa Mata Hati underlines the sending and receiving of messages that continues over time, generate closeness between teachers and students and make them into a more intimate relationship . Teachers cope with students who show a poor mood by giving attention, giving compliments and control students in accordance with the theory of positive politeness .
