Abstract

English as an international language is important and very useful in our life. English has been taught to the students in Elementary school who are commonly called as young learners. Teaching English to young learners is not the same as to the adult learners. It is because the waythey learn a foreign language is different from adult learners. Regarding the characteristics of young learner, the teacher is required to be more critical and creative in selecting or even combining any techniques available, which is relevant to their characteristics and developmental stage. Young learners have more complex characteristics than adults. They like to play and have fun even in learning situation.
