Abstract

Baground : Cellulitis is an infection of the skin that occurs in the dermis and subcutaneous tissue. Complications such as osteomyelitis, endocarditis, to bacteremia will occur if cellulitis is not treated properly. Therefore, this Final Scientific Work of Nurses aims to analyze implementation of wound care in cellulitis.

Metods :. This study used a case study research design involving 1 respondent. The research was conducted at Kanjuruhan Hospital in Soedirman room on January 16-18 2023 with data collection techniques using interviews, observation, physical examination and documentation. Data analysis by anamnesis, observation, problem priority, intervention, implementation and evaluation using the Bates-Jansen scale.
Results: Results Analysis of cases in patients found diagnoses namely impaired skin integrity. By administering wound care interventions with metronidazole, wound healing outcomes, and evaluation results reduced edema on the wound side, wound inflammation, purulent drainage, infection rate, and the Bates-Jansen scale each day 1 pre 51, post 45; day 2 pre 28, post 25; day 3 pre 28, post 23.
Discussion: Wound care with metronidazole is necessary to accelerate the wound healing process. The results of nursing analysis with wound care interventions with metronidazole can reduce edema on the wound side, wound inflammation, purulent drainage, and infection rates, but it takes longer time to find out the effectiveness of metronidazole compresses further.
