The goal of the research is (1) to know the teacher and student activity in teaching and learning process used expository method followed group task used “Tutor Sebaya” approach. (2) to know the improvement of student’s result of study in teaching and learning process used expository method followed group task used “Tutor Sebaya” approach. This research is done in SMP Negeri 1 Karangrejo Tulungagung because there are many still students who are still less in mastering “Pertidaksamaan Linear Satu Variabel” and after quiz is done, student value is still under 70 which is based on SKBM (Standar Ketuntasan Belajar Minimum). This research is done on the 25th of November 2009 until the 3rd of December 2009. The method of this research uses qualitative descriptive method. The data is got from student’s result of study, observation, and interview. Technique of analysis data uses data reduction, data course, and summary and verification. The result of teacher activity during teaching and learning process can rich 99.97% based on category that have chosen before, and it includes on the greatest category. The research is also emphasized to know student activity during teaching and learning process. Student activity in teaching and learning process which is relevant with teaching and learning process riches 95.28% which include in a good category, in contrast, the study activity who is relevant with KBM riches 4.72%. The result of study that is enriches in applaying expository method followed group task with “Tutor Sebaya” approach in learning “Pertidaksamaan Linear Satu variabel” is got from student’s final test. Siclus I, the average that is got is 69.74. It means the teaching and learning process in Siclus I can be said not efective. In contrast, Sicluse II, the result of the test gets improvement up to 10.64, so that in the average that is got in Sicluse II is 80.38 and can be said efective. The finishing study in clasical in Siclus I is up to 69.36% and in Sicluse II is up to 89.74%, it means the improvement got in clasical up to 20.38%. The summary of the research is the using expository method in teaching and learning process followed group task with ”Tutor Sebaya” approach can run well as planned in lesson plan. Category of teacher and student activity can rich maximally, the result of study increases, the finishing study in classical have been appropiate with SKBM (Standar Ketuntasan Belajar Minimum).
