Abstract

The research was a case study to PT. BATU BHUMI SURYATAMA – Batu titled: ”Application of MRP Method as the base of raw-material needs at PT. BATU BHUMI SURYATAMA – Batu. Material Requirement Planning (MRP) was a system which coordinaze and integrate the raw material lanning into product. It was done by paying attention to the relation between items through product structure described the product making. MRP able to decide the various component amount in accurate way which didn’t owe good product planning. Data needed for data processing were demand data, product structure data, stock data, and lead time. First phase which was done in raw material planning was prediction of demand data from previous period. Second, doing production schedule according to independent demand of the product. According to product structure, stock note, and production schedule, there would be calculation of raw-material needs for all items gave information about gross processing, stock condition, and lot size. From data existed there would be prediction by lot for lot method, that was minimum stock. The company also could make errand of raw-material component in right time. From above process, there hoped that the organization took policy to fix the production planning system by taking effective step and efficient cost to increase optimum service to the customer.
