Abstract

The research aimed to find out the activity of Saponin anti-bacteria powder produced by isolation of Aloe barbadensis Miller to Streptococcus agalactiae in vitro and find the correct filler to support the Saponin anti-bacteria powder. The result expected to be the research base for further research in vivo of using saponin produced by isolation of Aloe barbadensis Miller to livestock sufferer for mastisitis. Then, it could give information about saponin from isolation of Aloe barbadensis Miller as natural antibiotic, replace of synthetic antibiotic or semi-synthetic in mastisitis medication. The research was done in Biotechnology laboratory University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The research used saponin produced by isolation of Aloe barbadenseis Miller with dextrin filler and amilum tested in Streptococcus agalactiae bacterial caused mastistis. Research method used was experiment with complete random plan, treatment of 6 doses saponin 0%; 1,5%; 3%; 6,2%; 12,5%; 25% and 50% repeated 3 times. The research data analyzed in descriptive way. The research showed that in MIC with dextrin filler and amilum showed its inhibitor ability in concentrate 12.5% while disc diffusion in saponin with new dextrin filler showed inhibitor zone in concentrate 12.5% and new amilum filler showed inhibitor zone around concentrate 6.2%. The conclusion taken in saponin antibiotic used with dextrin filler in concentrate 1.5% to 25% lack of sensitiveness and in concentration 50% could be considered sensitive, while in amilum filler in concentration 1.5% to 25% is lack of sensitiveness. Saponin with dextrin filler to 50% level gave inhibitor zone larger than amilum filler.
