Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) how students' mathematical reasoning ability by using The Power of Two (2) how the activities of students during learning by using The Power of Two (3) mastery learning students after application of the method of Learning The Power of Two The research is classroom action research (PTK), which consists of two cycles. The object of this research is students of VIII class of MTs Muhammadiya 01 Malang with algebra structure factorization material. Data collection is to use the observation sheet for student activities and find out the final tests for reasoning and learning completeness. The results showed that: (1) activity of students with The Power of Two learning methods in particular mathematics lesson materials aljabar factorization structure on the first cycle be quite good with a percentage of 57.49% and on the second cycle is good with 71.07 percentage %. (2) students' mathematical reasoning ability. In the first cycle students' mathematical reasoning ability is good with a percentage of 74.5%, while in cycle II menunjukka percentage of 89.8% with both criteria. (3) mastery learning outcomes of students with learning method, The Power of Two on the first cycle showed complete 16 of 24 students with the percentage of completeness of 66.7%. While on the second cycle showed 20 students completed the 24 students with the percentage of completeness of 83.3%. This shows that learning mathematics by using methods of learning The Power of Two is successful with students demonstrated mastery on the second cycle reaches more than 75%.
