Abstract

This research focused on exploring writing task material in Bahasa Inggris 2013 curriculum textbook for the eleventh grade senior high school published by Minister of Education And Culture. The aim of this research is to find out: (1) writing task material in Bahasa Inggris textbook, (2) the dominant writing task in Bahasa Inggris textbook. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative research. The object of this study was Bahasa Inggris 2013 curriculum textbook for the eleventh grades of senior high school published by Minister of Education and Culture. The research instrument which is used is document. The data was collected through document analysis. In analyzing the data, the researcher do reviewing, analyzing, describing and drawing. The result of this research shows that the writing task in Bahasa Inggris 2013 curriculum for the eleventh grade senior high school published by minister of education and culture which were found are 55 tasks. The writer found experience task type consists of 14 tasks in the kind of draw and write, linked skills, and writing partial. The shared task type is not found in these textbook. Furthermore, guided task type consist 37 tasks which were spread in the kind of identification, understanding explanations, answering question, correction, completion, ordering, substitution, and transformation. Moreover, the independent task type consists of 4 tasks. At the end of the research, based on four types of writing task, the dominant of writing task in Bahasa Inggris was guided task type consisting of 37 tasks that were found. In this case, identification consists of 6 tasks, understanding explanation consists of 7 tasks, answering questions consists of 2 tasks, correction consists of 4 tasks, completion consist of 15 tasks, ordering consist of 1 task, substitution consist of 1 task, and transformation consist of 1 task.
