Abstract

This Research was intended to know the significant difference of teaching English using Outdoor Learning for 3rd grade EYL at SDN Tulungrejo 4 Bumiaji Batu. It was conducted based on the fact that the English score of the students was not satisfactory. The researcher tried to present Outdoor Learning to teach English for Young Learners. It was selected because it could provide fun and enjoyable learning atmosphere. This study used a Quasi-experimental design to know whether or not the Outdoor Learning could effective to the studentsÂ’ English understanding. In the experimental research, the classroom was divided into experimental group and control group. The experimental group was given a treatment with Outdoor Learning and control group was taught by three phased learning. The population of this research was the 3rd grade students of SDN Tulungrejo 4 Bumiaji Batu consisting of two classes. The researcher took 2 classes for this research which the characteristic of both classes were equal, based on the students score. The total number of third grade was 55. 3A was 27 students and 3B was 28 students. The instruments used to collect the data were pre-test and post-test. The data of this study were analyzed using SPSS 16. The result of SPSS 16 found that t-value was.020 was less than .05. Since significant value was less than .05, so the Null Hypothesis was rejected. It means that Outdoor Learning effective for 3rd Grade EYL at SDN Tulungrejo 4 Bumiaji Batu.
