Abstract

The school is the formal education institution. It is small group with the consideration to improve the attitude, experience, and knowledge of the educated. People assume that the school ages must be the important period to determine the development of the student’s quality and expectation of learning, meeting friends, playing around, joking with friends, sharing, helping each other, giving attention to each other, etc. In fact, a form of violence occurs within school. This form is called bullying. Any attitudes or behaviors classified into bullying are those causing depression, offense, discomfort and misery to the victim physically, emotionally, sexually, and economically. Some factors behind the bullying by the elementary student and the impact of this behavior must be interesting to be attended. The method of research is a case study with three subjects of research. Several data collection methods are included such as interview, observation and CAT (Children Apperception Test). Results of research indicate that the factors behind the elementary student who commit bullying involve: the less parental attention and love; the absence of parental authority to teach the good and bad behavior; the learning process through modeling the father behavior that internalized by the subject; the ineffective, inconsistent and discontinued punishment given to the subject; misinterpretation by the subject to the victim response for the subject perceives the bullying as positive reinforcement or a gift. The impact of bullying on the subject is so many. The subject usually feels glad and happy but their aggressive behavior increases. The subject, therefore, tends to be isolated, avoided and rejected. The bad label is given to the subject. The bullying subject always has weak capability to focus, lower concentration to the lesson, and poor academic achievement.
