Abstract

This research aimed to describe how the study of the Function of Invers through cooperative learning model of STAD and to get empirical data about learning achievement and learning student’s activityof Grade XI of SMA 4 Probolinggo in studying of the Function of Invers through co-operative learning model of STAD. The approach used in this research is qualitative approach. The type of qualitative approach is survey action because the researcher conducts action to the research subject specified at theact of expression of meaning and learning process as the effort to improve student’s learning achievement and also learning activity through co-operative learning. This research is conducted on May-June 2009 at even semester of 2009/2010 school year in Grade XI of SMA 4 Probolinggo. The subject of this research is 40 students in Grade XI of IPA (mathematical and natural sciences) 2. The instrument used is test, perception sheet, field note, and documentation. The technique performed within data collectionis test, perception sheet, and field note. The data analysis used is descriptive qualitative. The result of this research shows: a) Study of function of Invers through co-operative learning model of STAD is very effective, start from giving a brief orientation about the material, teacher point out one of the group to present the previous material. After finishing group presentation then the teacher conducts group discussion to study from what have been presented, to facilitate student in group discussion, teacher exemplify related to the material to be taught. In the end of group discussion, teacher conducts the evaluation by giving the student’s individual test which is later used for determining of group score. This matter is seen from amount percentage of the students who complete the learning at the 1st meeting that is 82,5 % rise to become 95 % at the second meeting. b) Study of Function of Invers through co-operative learning model of STAD isvery effective in improving student’s learning activity. From 4 indicator by 12 descriptor perceived, there area rising-up of from 87,50 % at the second step becoming 92, 71 % at the third step. c) Study of function of Invers through co-operative learning model of STAD is effective in improving student’s learning achievement. It is seen from amount of students who complete the learning at the 1stmeeting that is 33 people of grand total 40 people with percentage 82,5 % then rising up at the second meeting becoming 38 people who complete learning with percentage of 95 %.
