Abstract
The purpose of this research to identify is the dividend announcement has information for investor and than if investors are correct in giving reaction. The analysis tools used in this research are proxies of investment opportunity set, it to divide the company into growth firm and ungrowth firm. The result from the first analisys to point out that there is a positive reaction from investor. The positive reaction from the investor in second day after dividend announcement show that investor have opinion that dividend announcement is a good news from manager indicated that the firm have a good prospect for the future. Based on the second analisys about dividend announcement and correctly investor in giving reaction, the result is investors regard that all dividend announcement have a economic value and investors doesn analysis before take a decision.
