Abstract

Coffee is one of the crops that is the biggest contributor to foreign exchange. Coffee exports are the fourth largest source of foreign exchange in the plantation sector after palm oil, rubber and cocoa. This research aims to analyze the determining factors of coffee exports to main export destination countries. The research method uses a panel data regression test, export destination countries include the United States, Germany, Malaysia, Japan and Italy, for the period 2001-2021. The research results show that the amount of coffee production, exchange rate, real GDP and international coffee prices simultaneously have a positive and significant influence on Indonesian coffee exports. Partially, the variable quantity of coffee production and the exchange rate have a negative and significant relationship to the volume of Indonesian coffee exports. Meanwhile, the real GDP variable has a positive relationship and has a significant effect on the volume of Indonesian coffee exports and the international coffee price variable has a negative and insignificant effect.
